Since memory serves, there has been a pen or pencil in Shell’s hand as she composed thoughts, ideas, and dreams. Growing up in a small farming community, she yearned for adventure that wasn’t accessible in a place surrounded by wheat fields as far as the eye could see. Subsequently, she read and fell in love with books.
Reading made it possible to travel to far away lands, different time periods, and alternate realities. Those escapades that’d been unveiled, fashioned a longing for her to write.
Shell writes for magazines and blogs. Her articles are published in a number of magazines including Meridian Life Magazine. She’s written copy for Todayz Publishing Idaho Hunting & Fishing Guide, creates resume’s and cover letters for clients, and ghost writes diversified essay’s.
As an author and a poet, Shell creates captivating short stories and eloquent poems. She participated in this year’s 2014, NaPoWriMo challenge and discovered a hidden talent for poetry. Nearly tripling the traffic to her blog, she now composes poetry.
Her work includes, but not limited to:
November 1st, 2014 Shell participated in NaNoWriMo’s 50,000 words in 30 days. Beneath The Weeping Creeper is her début novel.
“I’m a true realist who has learned no matter what you may want in life, you must work for it. Nothing in this world comes easy or cheap. Nonetheless, if you want it bad enough it’s all worth the effort.” ~ Shell Ochsner
