I would leave tomorrow if only I could.
A trail of dust as my shadow befell you no more.
Lies hold me here; truth escapes ears not willing to bear the truth.
Scorned one too many times, cliché hit these pages without care.
Understanding is long gone and now time is biding, preparing for launch.
Escape barely contained as freedom is within reach.
But wait, casualties will fall the blame I will take.
Promised to the one who resents me the most.
No longer will shackles hold down by empty promises made.
Nightly hopes of gestures never to come, will hurt no more.
Emptiness will fill the halls, my presence gone for good.
